Fees, Costs and Terms

The following outlines my standard fees, expenses and terms of engagement for equestrian expert witness services, equine valuations and consultancy.

Professional Fees

Professional work	£175 per hour
Travelling and waiting time	£40 per hour
Court attendance, including hearings and tribunals	£450 per day, plus travel and expenses

Please note: For professional work, periods of less than one hour are charged at £35 per 15 minutes or part thereof.

Terms and Conditions

1. All of the above fees and expenses will be charged from the date that official written instructions are agreed and received from instructing solicitors, representatives, authorised persons or organisations.
2. All fees will be charged to the initial instructing solicitor, representative, authorised person or organisation, who will be responsible for payment.
3. Accounts will be submitted at regular intervals as each reporting phase is completed.
4. Account payments must be made within 30 days.
5. If, following verbal or written notification that I am required to attend court on a particular date, it becomes evident that my attendance is no longer required for any reason, I must be notified at the earliest opportunity. Any expenses already incurred, such as deposits for hotel bookings, will be charged.
6. If I receive less than two days’ notice of cancellation, a fee of £200 plus any incurred expenses will apply.
7. If I attend court and the matter is resolved or settled before the case is formally heard, a charge of £300 plus expenses will apply.
8. A fixed fee for a report can be arranged in individual cases.

Duty to the Court

I acknowledge that my overriding duty is to the Court and that my expert witness services are provided in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).

I fully appreciate the importance of court timescales and will endeavour to adhere to all procedural deadlines.
